Captain G Prabhat Kumar

I am a Retd IAF Pilot (Wing Commander) and Retd (Vol) Commercial Pilot (Sr Capt Indigo Airlines). I have 14000 hrs of flying experience including 8000 hrs on Airbus 320/321 commercial aircraft. I have flown Fighters (MiG 21 and Mig 27) and transport aircraft in IAF. Last flown ac in IAF was Boeing 737NG Boeing Business Jet for the Indian President, Prime minister and Vice President. I spent 27 years in IAF followed by 9 years in commercial aviation. I resigned from commercial flying in Nov 2024. I am presently 57 yrs young and settled in Hyderabad. I have flown eleven different aircraft including commercial planes. I am passionate aviator with 36 years in flying. I am also an Aeromodeller and aeronautics enthusiast with extensive experience in design and flying RC fixed wing aircraft. I am a Certified Fixed Wing UAS Instructor Pilot and Drone Pilot. I started it as hobby as a young school boy and took up flying as a carrier for the passion for aircraft. During my school days, due lack of equipment and resources, I started exploring alternate methods to make flying model aircraft and was always recognised as a nerd. I earned the same title in the IAF as well. This gave me an opportunity be on Flight Test Team Pilot for induction trials of Falcon 900 EX and Bombardier G 5000 aircraft for Gov of India post Kargil conflict. Also, I learnt CAD and expertise in 3D design and production of aircraft models. All these years, I parallelly continued my design work in spite of time constraints. I was on RC experimental Aircraft design teams and also advised indirectly on drone propulsion and aircraft design for some DRDO projects. I have been a Judge for Aeromodelling Competitions from IAF for NCC RDC camps at Delhi. I also started a small firm 'Alpha Model Aeronautics', a home work shop, helping students learn model aircraft design and building. This has helped them to work with precision and earn to make a living as well. Presently my team members are serving clients in Middle East and African Regions from Doha, Qatar. I am involved in creating 3D work for the team on challenging aircraft projects It has been my long time aim to be associated with eminent organisations to use my skill at industry level. I teamed up with TSAA (Telangana State Av Academy) for last one year, earned my Drone Pilot certification, and worked with Academy to establish a Fixed Wing UAS Training Faculty. This involved intensive discussions and correspondences with Regulators and Aero Sports bodies. Parallelly, I successfully trained a trial batch of fixed wing UAS Pilots and was thus certified as an Instructor Pilot. During this period, I was introduced to various organisations including Army elements, dealing with UAS and interacted on flight tests, safety and performance trials of FW UAS. I look forward to be on design and tests teams, especially Fixed Wing UAS.
